Site Plan
A site plan indicates a well thought out solution to the site and is usually required to be prepared by a licensed civil engineer.
A good site plan indicates a well thought out plan to the building department or permitting authority. It usually starts with a property search in the public records, plotting property lines, known easements, existing structures, utilities and other features. A site visit is usually necessary to examine the site. Either a contour map must be produced or an existing contour map is reproduced and modified to match the current site conditions.
